accidental damage

Dear sir,
22 days ago my mother had an accident one vehicle full of people fell on her after accident.nothing happened to her anywhere except leg .accident caused one hair line fracture in her left leg and leg swelled like anything. we are doing treatment but swelling is not lessening.its been 22 days now .and swelling lessens when she keeps her in elevated mode but when she touches floor and stands up it just increases again.it has bcm red at few places and other then that black please advice please.

Hi rikku2008, how are you? Sorry to know about your mother having met with an accident that resulted in a fracture. Have you taken x- ray of the left leg and got examined by an orthopedic surgeon? Is it a closed fracture and what was the immediate treatment given. She needs complete bed rest for at least 8 weeks and should not walk or stand. Inflammation and infection can worsen the pain and delay the healing of fracture, so get her examined at earliest with orthopedic doctor. Pain medication and warmth can relieve pain to some extent. Do not further delay, as she needs specialized care; please update once you visit the doctor. Take care.
