by lora1964, Jul 02, 2009 07:58PM
I had an injury right above the right ankle on the inside of my foot. I have had a bone scan two xrays and mri  that say nothing is broken  I am having a lot of swelling pain in my toes also can not move my big toe , the rest don't move very much.so I switched doctors had an emg done it shows tarsal tunnel syndrome they put me on celebrex see if the entrapment goes away then they want to do cortisone injections my question should i wait three weeks or go ahead and have the injection and does it help very often.

Ligament tears and sprains are difficult to treat and they are the most common injuries of the ankle. Rest, immobilisation cures the ligament problems. There can also be some tendon injury of the long muscles of leg which are inserted at the base of foot.
But as you are pretty sure and diagnosed with tarsal tunnel syndrome, you can go ahead with steroid injection. It gives relief in many cases. Take care!
