arthrogram results

I am 5 years status post rotator cuff repair and started having pain again in Jan 10.  I recently underwent another arthrogram with MRI and the results were inconclusive.  I thought these results should be the most accurate.  The doc says that there looks like a leak/tear, but not actually visualized on MRI.  They say my pain is either another tear or just scar tissue.  The difference is the recover weeks compared to months.  My question is why would the results not be more clear??

Hello!

I would suggest you to get your MRI commented by an expert radiologist. After this and the arthrogram it should be conclusive. Take a second opinion near another orthopedician.

Also try ultrasonography as in arthrography partial tears are more difficult to evaluate, particularly in people older than 40 years of age.

Take care!
