After doing some barbell curls, followed by some forearm barbell curls at the gym I noticed my left bicep hanging to the side of my arm. I have had ultrasounds and an MRI which has confirmed my biceps tendonTendon repair is intact and attached at either end yet I am still unable to flex or lift anything with my left arm.
Im just wondering if anyone has heard of this happening before as all Ive been told by the orthopedic specialist is that I will have to undergoe a physio rehab program. He didnt actually tell me what is wrong!
You probably have biceps tendonitis.
Attempting to lift heavy weights with a muscle that is not correctly warmed up makes one prone to this muscle damage Overhead activities and lifting must be avoided at first when one is in convalescence with biceps tendonitis. Treatment consists of activity modification, anti-inflammatory measures, heat and cold modalities, and exercise program for promoting strength and flexibility of shoulder .You should consult a physiotherapist and undergo rehabilitation exercises.
