Getting your doctor to give you a cortisone shot stops the painful feet.

This may be plantar fasciitis or it may not.  If the pain is close to the heel, and it is worse in the morning, then it is likely plantar fasciitis. The pain from plantar fasciitis usually diminishes as you walk on it.  (at least at firsts)  You could also be describing symptoms of neuropathy (are you diabetic?) The pins & needle description tends to indicate a possibility of diabetic neuropathy.  If you have flat feet, then you may have posterior tibial tendon disfunction.  You may also have tarsal tunnel syndrome (similar to carpal tunnel syndrome, but in the feet.) or you could have some form of arthritis.  You will need to see a doctor to identify which of these is most likely.

No matter which it is, getting good shoes will help.  If you can wear sneakers, get the Brooks Beast or Addiction Walker.  These are the most supportive ones on the market.  Make sure that you get your feet measured again.  Your feet keep growing your entire life, and shoes that are too small will aggravate any of these problems.  You may also need an arch support - make sure you get one that is calibrated for your weight.  If you can't wear sneakers, then get a Drew Traveler.  These shoes are much more expensive than you are used to paying, but they are easily worth it.

If you do have plantar fasciitis, I have found that ice at night works very well, but don't use ice in the morning.  Instead, stretch your feet for ten minutes before you get out of bed.  The plantar fascia tendon gets very tight while you are sleeping, and you want it loose before you put your weight on it.  You could wear a night boot that will allow you to sleep with the foot in the stretched position.

I should point out -- I don't represent any of these shoe brands, but I am a certified pedorthist, and I believe strongly in these brands.

Hello Dear,
Burning of  foot pad may be due to different causes such as diabetes, neuropathy, thyroid dysfunction etc.Unless any cause is detected no treatment can be done,so consult a neurologist and get your problem diagnosed.
