broken tibia

my partner last week broken his tibia and has been in alot of pain since he has done it he says he can feel his bone moving, does this mean its not healing properly? he is worried that they will have to break it again. He has his first appointment at the fracture clinic tomorrow does anyone know what they will do? Thanks

Hello sian559,

Hi did your partner any severe type of trauma. Was it very significant? Was there any accident? What does the current X-ray report show? Was there associated fracture of the fibula also? If it is a clear cut case of fracture than immobilization and complete bed rest is recommended, atleast for few weeks and then as a follow up decision from your orthopedician. In the mean while take anti inflammatory agent like ibuprofen and restrain from the sports activity.
