Hello Dear,

You should take vitamin B 12,methlcobalamin for neuronal healing.Take good care of the cast, give proper rest to your wrist and you can also take gabepentin (lyrica) if your neurologist suggests.Nerve healing takes its own time,be patient.Consult a physiotherapist for pain management.

THank you for your advice,  do you think in your professional opinion I will return to the sucess I felt post surgery  before the break?  Seems and feels like such a setback right now.

Swelling, stiffness, aches and pains in the hand may well be due to other problems, and may persist to some extent following any form of treatment.
Nerve damage existing before treatment may lead to incomplete recovery.
With this in mind, the great majority of patients are improved with appropriate treatment. Most reports indicate that if carpal tunnel syndrome is the only problem, over 95% of patients have a satisfactory outcome from surgery.
