This most probably may be any ligament damage in your knee and as you should go for an examination near an orthopedician.
The hamstrings have to be checked for proper functionality, along with your calf muscles (gatrocnemius and soleus) and the ankle joint.
Follow up with your neurologist for the ataxia problem and it may aggravate these symptoms and also he will examine to find out any nerve involvement, spinal injury or sciatica which may mimic your symptoms.
