cervical and thoracic herniations

I am an 18 y/o female, about a 1.5 years ago I was involved in a car accident. And after 1.5 with no diagnosis I just found out I had a cerivcal herniation at C5/6, thoracic herniation T9/10,annular injury and protrusion at C6/7, annular bulging at T7/8 and other cervical bulging discs. The doctors told me me they didn't understand how all of that can missed fo so long after seing more than 10 doctors and having more than 6 MRI'S. The doctors also told me the thoracic region is the risky place to operate because they can accidently puncture my lungs during surgery and it is very uncommon to have thoracic herniations.Since most of the pain is mid back I AM VERY MUCH  considering thoracic surgery. I was just wondering if anybody had a successful surgery in the thoracic region for a herniated disc or any suggestions

Hi I had thoracic surgery. It is rare to do surgery in the thoracic area. I did not have a sucessful surgery in that area. I do suffer now from neuropathic pain and pain from the surgery and the original injury. Please find a surgeon that has had lots of experience in thoracic surgery. I feel for you and know what you are going through. Please follow my blog.
