chest/shoulder bicep pain

by lucy36, May 18, 2008 11:55PM
I injured myself at work in May 2006,had pain in the chest/shoulder,could not lift arm over head,in pain to move arm. They sent me to P/T said it was a strain.Did that for 3 months not getting better.I had x-rays done,I finally saw a sports Dr.,he had a MRI done,he said that the bicep was my problem,so he did the bicep release surgery. This was Sept. 2006.After surgery I did P/T and was still in pain, the same pain and just added more bicep pain. The Dr.wanted to go back and do more surgery.I go to another Dr.who order's another MRI,and he tell me that it is my rotator cuff has a tear in it,in Mar.2007 he repairs the rotator cuff. The pain has eased up in the shoulder area but I still have the pain at the chest/shoulder area.It feels like I am being stab when I reach over, the bicep feels like it is catching,it is tight, like rubberband. When I raise my arm I am in pain,I can get my arm over my head, but you can hear it pop and sounds and feels like it is grinding. The cramping in the bicep will sometime take my breath away.My arm is very weak,I don't trust it I don't when it will give out.The only relief I find is keeping the arm close to my body, kinda bent at the elbow. The Dr.stopped sending me to P/T he saw no results. He thinks it is as good as it is going to get.I am going to see another Dr.,waiting for the appt.Hope this Dr.can help with bicep pain.Has anyone had the same problems,if so what was your relief?I have had 5 cordorzone shots in the shoulder area they were no help. The 2nd Dr. said as a last resort they could go back in and reattach that tendon, but that might not fix the problem. How long can a tendon be down and still be able to be attached?

According to  your medical history and treatment process, I have an idea, can doctor check the  soft tissue of scapula bottom region, to see if sensitive, because if this region suffer from soft tissue injury, chronic inflammation will result in conduct pain, and lead to chronic biceps pain.

if so,go to see reputable acupuncturist and treat it by deep and intensive acupuncture, which is very effective for relive inflammation of soft tissue.
Good luck!
