chip ankle bone

my 10yr old son was diagnoised with a chip bone in the inside left ankle. dose that require a cast, and if so, how long will he have it on?

Hello!
It is always good to go for a cast, as immobilization will aid in perfect bone healing.
At his age cast for 4-6 weeks would be sufficient. After 4 weeks we advise a follow up X-ray.
