clavicle

Hello,

I had a boating accident wher I basically dove into a steel post collar bone first. After a couple days of light to moderate pain I went to the emergency and they took half a dozen exrays. The doctor looked at one of the exray's and in about 15 seconds said it was not broken. Now that was either a good thing or a bad one. I am worried she did not see it as being dislocated. I am not sure if she would have known that in 15 seconds.

Long story short. Now it has been about 3 weeks and the collar bone sticks out much farther at the sternum than my right one. Should I be worried. I have relatively no pain, more in my neck and the bump are tight. I can now do push ups with no problem and I can lift heavy objects with almost no disconfort, just a little tightness. To be honest it only looks nasty, but does not hurt. Should I give it more time in case it is swollen, I am not relatively gentle with it anymore.

Your input is greatly appreciated.
Thank you,

You should take a frest X-ray and if the bone alignment is fine and you still do not have any fracture, dislocation nothing to worry. Inflammation at the injury site will subside. Take care!
