congenital hip dislocation

hi,I'm angela..I have a son and he has right hip dislocation,he already done an operation at the right hip and undergone the rehabilitation after the operation.The right hip is shorter than the left but he can walk.I noticed that there is no changes after the operation and It became more shorter.He was 2years old when he undergone the operation and now he is 4 years old.Is it possible that his hip is dislocated again?but there is no pain..

Hello!

Once his hip has been reduced by open methods and after a successful surgery then maintenance of reduction by proper methods should be adopted.
Did he wear a plaster cast of a splint?

External splints can be removed once the hip stabilizes. The hip should be kept under observation for a period of 2-3 years for any recurrence.

In cases of recurrence you have to follow up and explore all options near a paediatric orthopedician.

Yes he had plaster cast and 3months rehabilitation after the operation but there is no difference the right hip is still shorter.I posted one of his photo when he had a cast.
