If you had a simple fracture of the humerus at the shaft and the healing is perfect this movement is sufficient.

The most important thing is try not to exert pressure and do not force yourself. You need time and endurance and try to strengthen yourself slowly and in a continous way.

In adults it is adviced whenever there is early mobilisation as in your case by using a cast brace, once the fracture becomes sticky. Children can use chest arm bandage.

Mid-shaft fractures may damage the radial nerve, which traverses the lateral aspect of the humerus closely associated with the radial groove. The median nerve is vulnerable to damage in the supracondylar area, and the ulnar nerve is vulnerable near the medial epicondyle, around which it curves to enter the forearm.
If you did not have any other associated damage other than the humerus bone the healing would be complete in 3 months and after physiotherapy in 6 months you would be getting most of your strength and functions.
When the site is diaphyseal, bone healing will be achieved after a mean period of 18 months Take care!
