dog bite to hand, 5 months ago

i was biten by a doeberman, 5 months ago
had 2 puncture wounds to the top of the hand
i've been to an orthopedic dr, he said 6 weeks of therapy, which i did, no relief from the pain and i had good range of motion
today i went to a plastic surgeon who specializes in hands, and he had no answers for me......here is a list of my complaints.

hand is very senstive to heat
numbness, tingling,
hurts to grip things  holding a pencil is AWFUL
pushing open a door, hurts
dull ache up to my elbow
tightness in fingers

he's advice to me was to return back to my family dr and see if he thought going to a pain clinic would help

why do i still have all this symptons 5 months after being bitten????????

hi buddy,
well the reformation of the nerve presents as a neuroms. Neuroma is easily identified as a small swelling over that place. They may show up on testing , the test is known as NCS(nerve conduction study). but it's not confirmed.

so, how do you find out if it is nerve damage????
if it's the small nerves on top of the hand,  do they show up in testing?
thanks for your info....
this is more information than what the specialist said yesterday!

hi buddy,
well that a lot of frustration you are going through. But sadly, we can;t do much now i guess. Due to the previous injury, it looks like there has been some sort of nerve damage, which has healed with a neuroma. this neuroma is a cause of pain , when you do some activity or hold something for a grip.
You can seek a pain clinic advice and hopefully it will give you some sort of relief.
Regards
