fingers might be broken?

I was playing vollyball with my friends and the volleyball hit my fingers right on the tips, hard. I felt my fingers jarred, but didn't think it was that bad. I got home, then relized that two of my fingers were blue in the middle joint area (with my palms facing up)! I can barely bend those two fingers. What does that mean?

Are they broken, badly bruised, sprained? should i just tolerate the pain, or get it in a cast (or whatever it is the use to fix fingers)?

Go for an X-ray and if your fingers are broken you will be given splint by your orthopaedician. Take pain killers and get some relief by ice packs. Take care!
