I am sorry you are in so much pain. I deal with nerve pain I have had nerve blocks and a radio frequency nerve block. The reason your doctor is not too keen on the nerve treatment is that it is temporal and then you can only have so many before it causes scar tissue-- that is what happened to my friend who had a crush injury to her foot and crps. Also the nerve meds have horrible side effects-- I know I was on them. Lyrica and neurontin will make you a zombie could cause you to gain to weight, and even cause migraines. Both have inert ingredients that are very bad-- talc (talcum powder is no longer available because of its correlation to ovarian cancer but it is fine to put in meds?--- I don't think so!) Then another ingredient is sodium laural(th) sulfate-- a detergent.
Some other meds such as cymbalta and or SSNRI's effect the adrenals glands can cause anxiety, heart palpitations, and is very addictive.
I will say that some people have had a good experience with the radio frequency nerve blocks-- I did not.
Also if you can see if you can find a pain management specialist and or a second opinion about your foot?
Hi my foot was crushed under a 10 x20 ft canapy and right foot Big toe was pointed at 2-3 o'clock. I straighter the foot and knew the foot was broken. Phy. ***. In Ed said I couldn't have straighten it and just rayed the angle. She said it was a bad Spain. I than repeated how it was and the bones were broke in the foot. Bone doc found the big toe and angle frac. I than tod him again how it was . 8 weeks toes pinky and next one still didn't move and than he listened and got. A cat scan. Bones under the two toes crushed. Operated bones out. Of place 4 wires 3monthes two weeks and 5 weeks to go in cast . Keep your foot up as long as you can the pain is finally going down. Still have spasms but getting less. If they would have listen it may have been less time in cast. Get 2 opinions. I also have to take care of my husband 24 hr he has picks. / alzt. Fld. Late stages
Hello!
Immediately follow up with an orthopedician for a proper diagnosis.
You have to rule out fractures by going for present day X-ray scans. If you have fractures then you have to consider a POP cast and if your orthopedician gives a go ahead for boot then continue.
Fractures of small bones are hard to heal and you may require surgery, explore all options.
Take care!
I am sorry you are in so much pain. What kind of tests, were any of them a bone scan or MRI? If not that is where you might want to start. What kind of pain, does that include burning and feeling like your foot is on fire or being electrocuted? If you have had the MRI and bone scan you might want to look up complex regional pain syndrome (especially since it was a crush injury) and see if that fits your symptoms.
