haemangioma intramuscular

I've gone through several medical check-ups recently because I have this visible swelling on my left upper hand, somewhere near my wrist.  I've had it for several years and it seems to become more swollen gradually.  It hurts only when it hits something hard or when it's being twisted abruptly.  The doctor confirmed that it's just excessive formation of blood vessels at that particular area and it doesn't do any harm, so it should just be left alone.  I'm still curious, is there anything I can do to minimise the pain I feel if my wrist accidentally hits something?  Does my condition limit me from doing certain things or pursuing certain careers in the future?

Thanks!
