hip bursitis and knee replacement

I had both knees replaced five years ago.  they were done 4 months apart.  I have trochanteric bursitis in my left hip.  that was the side my knee was the worst.  I think that my left leg is shorter than my right.  could this bursitis be caused by my legs being uneven/

Bursitis is very painful... I really feel for you.... I had it on my leg from a car accident and if I accidently hit it on anything it sent horrid pain running in all directions.... I hope it heals soon.  Normally it is caused from hitting it or falling.... did you have some sort of trauma or fall? Bursitis is inflammation of the fluid-filled sac (bursa) that lies between a tendon and skin, or between a tendon and bone... some how you have caused trauma to it. Good luck. Hope you feel better.
