Hi, I woke up yesterday with pain in my upper right thigh and hip, buttocks. The pain got worse throughout the day, hard for me to walk when pressure is applied and I often had to limp. I iced the area and took IB profen all day. This morning the pain was even more sever when walking, shooting and dull pain when pressure was applied when walking. I also noticed that my right arch of my foot toward the inside of the foot is swollen, I have minor pain in that as well. If anyone has any information on what this could be please let me know I really appreciate it. I have been searching for hours and just getting confused with the many possibilities. Thanks so much.
It might be due to the false position of your legs while sleeping, they get locked sometimes, or any previous injury which might have aggravated.
Take anti inflammatory drugs, rest and go for an orthopaedician examination.
Yeah I run a lot and lift weights. I had a previous tear to the adductor muscles that are always tight and sometimes hurt. I think it might be hip bursitis, are you familiar with this? Sorry to bother you again. Thank you so much for your kindness and time to listen to me!
Hip Bursitis info:
Hip bursitis is a common problem that causes pain over the outside of the upper thigh. A bursa is a fluid filled sac that allows smooth motion between two uneven surfaces. For example, in the hip, a bursa rests between the bony prominence over the outside of the hip (the greater trochanter) and the firm tendon that passed over this bone. When the bursal sac becomes inflamed, each time the tendon has to move over the bone, pain results. Because patients with hip bursitis move this tendon with each step, hip bursitis symptoms can be quite painful.
I'm wondering about that hip bursitis. I was reading your post and that sounds like the problem I've been having. I'm 26 and i run a lot and do a lot of lunges and leg workouts mixed with arms moves. Lately, the past 3 or 4 weeks, I've been feeling a pain in the hip thigh area (saddle bag zone). Do you still do your regular workouts with hip bursitis or do you lighten it up so you don't inflame it more? What causes hip bursitis? Could that be what I have? If it is, do I have to do the shots, is there not a more natural method of healing it? I am into natural healing and herbal remedies when it comes to health. Does it hurt for you to cross your legs or uncross them, sit a certain way or even stand a certain way?
hi to everyone, thanks for your comments. my story is right hip, the area of pain is in the hollow part of my hip[ or near the back pocket. if i lay on my back, pull my knee to my chest and turn my leg to the left side i feel the muscle pull, this pain is just above that area, honest it drives me mad , when i sit or lay down.some days or nites . spend alot of time on a tens machine, massage chair, at times i do get some ease. have visted doctors- get that blank look, all the questions, have i tryed physo[yes]- bone jerkers[yes[ lots of time there] deep tissue massage, the list goes go , but the pain stays, maybe i am not asking the doctor the right questions to push the matter . i cant see why i have to live with the pain?????????
