Hello!
The surgical pain should completely go in 3-4 weeks. You are having this intense pain due to surgery coupled with your injury. Take intermittent anti inflammatory medications.
As with crutches and support when you start walking and with proper recovery it would take 8 weeks additional if all your parameters are fine and you recover perfectly.
Follow up with your surgeon regularly.
Take care!
I think my break was a little less serious then yours was but its hard to know. Anyway my break was down closer to the ankle and it was about 2 months before I was walking without crutches. I think I waited a little long I'm a wimp when it comes to pain.
For me the throbing type pain went away for me about a week after surgery.
Just keep your leg up above your heart as much as possible to help with the swelling and pain. At night I would prop my foot up top of a bunch of pillows.
Good Luck
