is there such thing as a foot replacement?

by bananas300, Dec 04, 2007 10:49AM
I have been having serious issues with my feet for about a year.  It is most intense when I am exerising - both of my feet go numb and hurt a lot.  They usually continue to tingle after I stop exercising for about an hour.  I also have major calluses on both of my feet that I haven't been able to get rid of.  I wear various types of inserts in all of my shoes to help alleiviate the pain.  I've been to two podiatrists and neither of them were able to help.  I just bought very expensive sneakers designed to help with my high arches and I'm still having the same problems.  It is so frustrating!  I am of average weight and height.  I walk a lot - I live in the city and don't have a car - but foot pain makes me hesitant to do so.  Please help - I just dont' know what else to do!!!!

It sounds like you may be having a problem with your vascular system.  Are you diabetic? Good foot care if very important as you are finding out. First, the problem with your calluses may be helped by going to get regular pedicures.  They will help in getting rid of the calluses, give you a nice massage that helps with blood flow and pain reduction.  If you are a male and think that pedicures are only for women who like to get the toenails painted, you are wrong.  A pedicure will help you.  You don't need to get nail polish. but can get a lot of good advice there for foot care.  For shoes, ask your doctor for a prescription for a pair of shoes for diabetics.  They are expensive and you get them through a store that supplies knee and back braces, or through a store called the "bone store" in your area.  good luck

Hi,
It seems you some type of neuropathy.
Are you diabetic. Your history points boot feet going numb only after exercising, vascular lesions can be possible. But you should have experienced  cramp like pain.
The heading of your post " any Feet replacement"
Sorry to say medical science is not yet so advanced  that feet transplant is possible.
Get a Doppler done to rule  out vascular pathology
Consult your doctor
