knee pain stopped, now lower back hip pain

by ree213, Sep 17, 2007 08:34AM
My lower back hip area has been driving me crazy for a couple of years now.  I have a slightly bulging disc but it doesn't bother me hardly at all.  All my pain is coming from my hips/pelvis. I don't think the disc is the cause of most of my problems.   I have had good results with pt treatment, that gently pulls my hip away from pelvis.  But it always needs adjusting back.  My right hip occasionally feels like it is giving a little, which in itself is not painful,  but causes my musceles to hurt for weeks afterwards.  It always get worse after sex.
I just realized a few weeks ago,  my knees don't hurt anymore!!!!   My knee use to pop and hurt, it was hard to get going when I first stood up.  and very difficult to walk down hills or steps.  Since my lower back/hip area has been giving me problems,  the knee pain is completly gone.  Do you think this was a knee problem or just a symptom of my hip problem?  When I was pregnant 2 yrs ago the pain completly went away also.  Unfortunatly, I do not have health ins so I have not had all the care I need.  I have went to physical therapy trying to strengthen and hopefully help the problem.   It has helped but I'm so tired of constantly hurting and being unable to play with my kids the way I want to I need to decide what I should do now.  I'm ready to go to a orthopaedic dr but don't know who to choose.

Here's the best advice I can give: Go to your local book store and get a book called "Pain Free" by Pete Ogosque. Do a search online about him and his clinics. This book was given to me as a gift 3 years ago and it's the best gift I have ever received. Your own body is absolutely amazing and you would be surprised as to how much you can do to heal and help your self! I refer to this book quite often. It is excellent and motivating reading.
