lateral fibula fracture

I broke my fibula diagonaly down into my ankle. I went to the doctor and had a cast put on. It was on for about a month and a half. Then i was in a walking boot for another month. After i went back to the doctor they said i was good to go but did not take X-Rays. I recently went to my family doctor and they had me take X-rays. They called me and said it was still fractured. Its been about 5 months and im in the process of making an appointment with a new bone doctor. What will most likely be the outcome?
