limited movement of lower right arm

by willspank, Sep 18, 2009 02:24PM
About April of this year I tried to scratch my back, near the left shoulder blade. Using my right arm,I put my hand near my right rear waist and tried to lift my right arm nothing happened, the lower arm would'nt go higher than my waist. I waited another month and tried it again, still nothing.

In June I went to see my doctor. He sent me to see an orthopedic doctor. I had X-rays, and a MRI. The doctor said he saw a little fluid in my shoulder. He also gave me a shot in my shoulder and told me that it would be better in a few days. It did not get any better and I could not raise my lower right arm in the rear. He sent me to physical therapy. I was there for about four weeks, three days a week. Still the lower arm would not raise in the rear.

I went to see the neurologist who did my back surgery back in 2001. He sent me to have an EMG, the results came back and showed that my nerves were okay.

I went to see the orthopedic doctor on September 17th, 2009. I was told that it had to be something in my shoulder, he also told me to exercise my arm on my own and maybe things would get better.

Is there anybody that can help me?

Hello!

The range of movements would decrease with age and also with sedentary life style.
I suggest you to exercise regularly and gain range of movements.

Need to check the strength of all the muscles and i would suggest you to go for an MRI of shoulder and if everything is normal there is no need to worry.

Follow up near an orthopedician.

Take care!
