lotion and emg

Hello,

I recently had an emg for cts. The results showed that my rt upper extremity is fine. I am wondering now if I affected the emg's quality as I took a shower the night before--- about 8 hours prior---and applied lotion to that area.

My questions are, considering the above,  did I negatively affect the results? and how does lotion hinder the emg testing?

thanks
