When one's medial plica is inflamed, that can be a totally normal finding, but in some cases cause some pain that can go away on its own.  In rare cases it becomes chronic and ongoing.  Orthopedists are usually eager to operate, so it's easy to find one that's willing to take a look with arthroscopic surgery.  That's not to say it's the best idea since it may go away on its own.
