nerve injury after surgery

I had a scaphoid excision four corner fusion of my right wrist last September. I have started going numb in an area I read was the Ulnar nerve part of the hand. The little finger, ring finger and part of the middle. I am losing grip strength and my hand is going weak, very weak. Could one of the screws from the fusion be causing this problem?

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to comment specifically on the situation, though this does appear to be a nerve related issue and can be causes by nerve compression/ damage which may or may not be related to the hardware. I would suggest considering a detailed evaluation by your treating orthopedician and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
