pott spine

Dear Sir my sister has diagnosed with Potts spine on 3.9.2014.she is suffering with back pain from last 7 months when we contact to a doctor he advise to us for x ray and MRI and ESR we have done these tests on 2.9.2014 and the reports is as under ESR is 72 mm and MRI report is "the study reveals partial collapse-compression of L4-5 vertebral bodies with osseous destruction and subtle focal kyphotic deformity, with diffusely altered marrow signal vertebral levels appearing hyperintense on T1W T2W images andshowing a heterogeneous hypointense pattern on T1W images with involvement of the intervening disc. This is associated with pre and paravertebral soft tissue edema and loculated collections appearing heterogeneously hyperintense on T2W and STIR  images with focal ventral collection at L4 level causing stretching of the posterior longitudinal ligament and effacement of anterior subarachnoid space with extrinsic compression on the thecal sac Bilateral neural formina at this level are partially effaced

Hemngioma seen in the D12 vertebral body
Rest of the vertebral bodies appears unremarkable
Visualized muscles and soft tissue planes are normal
IMPRESSION
MR Imaging reveals partial collapse - destruction of L4-5 vertebral bodies with marrow edema and pfd & paravertebral collection with ventral epidural space collection  causing focal canal stenosis at L4 level as described
Imaging findings are likely suggestive of Potts spine
sir dose these report enough for confirmation that this is  Potts spine.
Any other test for confirmation which is necessary
What is the best tertment for this dises
Sir please give your valuable  advise  to me
Thanks

Does your sister have a history of tuberculosis?

Potts spine disease is what is called extra-pulmonary (outside of the lung) tuberculosis. This is a serious disease that requires medical management.
