schmorl's node

My daughter is 16 and injured herself in a cheer accident two months ago and after another MRI they found a schmorl's node.  Can anyone tell me how long it takes to heal or does it heal and how much longer she will be in such pain.  She is really suffering.  Thank you

Hi,
Just brief you about this condition.
Schmorl's nodes are defined as herniations of the intervertebral disc through the vertebral end-plate.It is generally agreed that trauma likely precipitates the actual formation of the Schmorl's node, but a possible congenital origin of a vertebral end-plate defect has also been suggested.
The disease is self-limiting and usually does not require extensive treatment. A careful rehabilitation program consisting of an initial rest period followed by a gradual return to full activity is usually successful in returning the athlete to full competition.

Hope this is useful

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi.

If you treat symptomatically, the pain should be gone by 3-4months.
