Thank  you very much for posting your  comment.I had 1 lumbar fusion on back and then a revision surgery due to a broken pars defect that broke the hardware and all of this since 6/2012.Now 7 weeks post-op I still have the bruising around incision area to butt crack since the 10th day post-op.I also have a lump on left side of incision with it being warm to the touch and pain. My surgeons office keep telling me its okay and you have had alot of trauma to the back area and to give it time. But I am scared and hurt really bad. I just started to get sciatica in the left butt down to my leg and ankle.I do not know what to do and i feel alone.I do thank you very much.

Hi there!

This is likely to be due to leakage of blood from a blood vessel. If it is just bruising without formation of a swelling or other symptoms; it may not be anything to worry about and is expected to get better in a few days. However, if there is formation of a swelling or there are associated symptoms such as tingling or numbness, you may consider getting it examined by your treating doctor for appropriate management.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
