severe kneepain please help

Hi my name is katelyn and im 17 years old and having severe knee pain. I have had four surgeries, 2 on my left and 2 on my right. I had surgery on my right knee in november and still having alot of problems, im having swelling on the left side of my right knee and it cracks more then it did before i had surgery, it hurts to stand for more then 10 minutes and my knees get weak really fast, and because of all of this i have developed bursitis in my hip and back problems. Also i have recently been put in a J brace to keep my knee in place because it almost popped out in school. Can you please give me suggestions?

Hello,
This knee pain can be due to chondromalacia patellae which is caused by softening of the cartilage of the patella. It is very common in adult young females. I would suggest an x-ray and MRI knee to confirm the diagnosis and rule out other differentials of arthritis and patellofemoral syndrome.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your dermatologist. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
