si fusing slowly

I had SI fusion 3 months ago and still pain. I just had a ct and it is slow healing, I think 20% or so. I feel alot of popping and cracking and I am a little worried. Is it still possible this will fuse? Is there anything else I can do to help it? My doctor wants me off pain meds but I cannot yet.

I have a torn left SI joint (10 years now) that I've been dealing with.  I chose not to go down the SI fusion road for fear of something like beccalee  is going through.  Although I've learned to deal with the pain I'm finding that my upper back and mid spine is suffering the residual effects of the lower instability.  I'm now dealing with a disk replacement in my cervical spine because of it.  I've been in PT since the accident. Is there anything that anyone can suggest to help keep the rest of my spine in good shape? I'm only 27 and I'm terrified that by the time I'm 40 I'll be in a wheelchair.  Can anyone offer up any advice?  Thanks!

Is it possible the popping is from instability in your spine?

it takes up to a year for the fusion to completely harden but i dont think you should hear popping unless it is actually coming from joints around the si joint. pj
