sternoclavicular dislocation

My son has a posterior sternoclavicular dislocation for which he will hopefully be having surgery for, he is desperate to know what the hospital/recovery time will be like.

Can anyone give some idea of recovery time, thank you.

Hi there!

The hospital time should not be more than a few days; while the recovery time may vary with the type of fracture, complications etc; and is roughly expected to be around a few weeks. It would be best to discuss the situation, the suggested management plan and the expected prognosis in detail with the treating orthopedician.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
