Hi,
How are you? Sitting for long periods of time could also contribute to the foot swelling. This is why it is important to stand up and stretch from time to time in your work station. Splinter hemorrhages are small areas of bleeding under fingernails or toenails. They take the shape of straight lines and may be caused by damage to the blood vessels. The most common cause of splinter hemorrhages are trauma to the nail. Take care and regards.
i visited the link of the website u have provided. Extremely helpful..thanks a lot.

Hi,
Swelling is caused by fluid buildup in the tissues. Because of the effect of gravity, swelling is particularly noticeable in the foot, ankle or leg. This may be due to: prolonged standing, long airplane flights or automobile rides, being overweight, increased age or injury or trauma to your ankle or foot. You can read more about this through this link: http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003104.htm
Treatment will depend on the cause of the swelling. One of the first treatment options is to elevate the legs, salt restriction and increased fluid intake. Take care and keep us posted.
