toes & ball of feet, pain, burning, numb, tingling

Looking for solution to the burning, stabbing pain in the balls (and toes) of both feet.
I change shoes frequently,
I have arch supports and cushions in all my shoes.
Can't wear high heels because of the pressure on the balls of feet.
Nor do I wear 'flip-flops' anymore, cause I don't think they are helping.

This discussion is related to Shin pain.

Thank you for responding.  It is BOTH feet.  I am fine around the house, but after constant walking around the grocery store...it is time to rest the feet again.
It is not fractures, infections, inflammations, spur, or heel pad.
Yes, additonal arch cushions help to prolong walking...
Resting the feet in the house (I work at home...interior designer) works...but not possible when out and about.
Yes I agree otheopedician evaluation would make sense...but THEY don't come up with answers/reasons, so that I can intelligently work with 'it'...and only appears as though they want to sell you 'things' for horrendous prices.
Thanks,
Gail

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi there!

Well, without an evaluation, it would be difficult to determine the cause of your pain and without a definite diagnosis at hand it is difficult to suggest a management plan. Possible causes of the symptoms that may need to be considered include fractures, ligament/ tendon injuries, infections, inflammations like fasciitis etc, spur formation, heel fat pad syndrome, arch issues etc. It is advised to consult an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Meanwhile it is advised to rest the foot and avoid weight bearing. You could also use some OTC NSAIDS for pain relief.
Hope this helps.

Take care!
