unhealed ankle and foot fractures

ive had 3 foot fractures and 2 ankle fractures. None have healed  alwayus have to have surgery, why dont i heal?

You might want to go back to your primary care physician and talk to him or her and see what they think is going on. You might have an endocrine issue. If you are not already find a good orthopedic foot and ankle surgeon, NOT a podiatrist. Also look into getting your vitamin d checked. It should be at least 50. If you smoke that will also inhibit healing. good luck, achilles2

There is a syndrome that I have heard of that can cause those type if symptoms, check out & look up "complex regional pain syndrome" and see if that might be what you are going through...

Hello!

It is very difficult for foot fractures to heal in adults.

You should discuss with an orthopedician and completely immobilize yourself in a plaster of Paris cast for your ankle and foot fractures to heal.

If there are multiple fractures and compromise in blood supply then the healing is difficult.

I would suggest you to explore all options about surgery and discuss with a podologist.
