Place ice packs and see if the inflammation subsides. Recollect the history of any injury or fall prior to the start of inflammation.
This can be tendonitis. Take some anti inflammatory drugs and rest. Lifting of heavy objects might have caused some damage.
If it does not help you would need an orthopedic examination and some investigations to diagnose any ligament, tendon or bursa problem.
