Dr Vinod,

Given your note that myxoid degeneration is the result of aging and wear, would it be logical to assume that most adults likely show signs of mild myxoid degeneration?

Thanks :)

Hello!

Myxoid degeneration is the result of aging and wear of your menisci in the ligament of your knee joint and it can be further aggravated by any injury.

Mild degenerative changes can be treated conservatively and you would require surgery if conservative therapy fails.

Follow up with an orthopedician.

Take care!
