what is up with my neck?

what is up with my neck?

I injured my neck about 4 weeks ago when I fell into my couch face first. I felt a crunch in the back of my neck, right between my shoulder blades. My neck remained stiff for 3 days after the incident and I was unable to turn my head due to muscle tightness.

After about a week the muscles spasms calmed down but I still noticed a severe pinch right right in the joint of my spine between my shoulder blades. The area around the joint felt sore like it was bruised but there was no discoloration.

I also noticed that if I apply pressure with my finger tips to the area, I feel a crunch. It sort of feels like I have small air bubbles surrounding the joint.
The area surrounding the joint still feels sore as if it were bruised. Im still feeling this horrible pinch and this weird bubble sensation around the joint.

I attempted to have an xray taken in the emergency room at my local hospital  but was turned away because Im without medical insurance. :(

What could I have possibly done to my neck and what should I do to make this pain go away?

Hello!

1) You have to go for an X-ray of your cervical spine to make sure that you do not have any fractures in your neck.

2) Wear a neck support collar and rest the area of injury and do not exert or do any movements to damage it further.

3) Apply ice packs and take pain killers to soothe the pain and inflammation.

4) Follow up with an orthopedician if your symptoms persist.

Take care!

Do you know of any medical insurance company's I can go to and get quick medical coverage that aren't expensive? Ive tried to get medicaid and HIP (Healthy Indiana Plan) Insurance but both of them are taking forever to process my application.

Ive already attempted to have an xray taken of my neck but was turned away by the hospital because I do not have medical coverage. They simply gave me a sheet of exercises to try, gave me a prescription for pain medicine, and sent me home. The Dr said they didn't want to do an xray with me having no insurance because it would cost me too much money to have it done. They also gave me a referral to see an Orthopedic Dr but since I have no insurance, I have to pay $250.00 as a down payment for my first visit. I simply do not have that much money to pay the Dr so I can be seen.....
