To: Anyone w/ unexplained pain
I have been to a knee specialist and had an mri and xrays.  Before I went I imagined all sorts of **** was going on in my knee.  But, turns out I only had slight degeneration in the bones making up my knee area and all the pain I am having is b/c I have a cartilage tumor in my femur.  Go get checked out by a specialist.  To anyone reading this if you have unexplained pain expecially deep within a bone, get it checked out.  I complained about my 'bum' leg to my husband for nearly two years, but as the pain worsened and started really killing me at night, I went to a local medical clinic and said hey can you just check this out.   I thought they were going to tell me I had a blood clot, or that I was getting arthritis.  They took the first x-ray of my femur and voila there it was the answer to my pain.  Then I was referred to an ortho specialist and after an MRI I was sent to a cancer center. The cancer center sent me to the knee specialist to 'rule out' degeneration to explain my femur pain. Now an oncologist manages my case.  So far I am lucky, my tumor looks benign, causes pain and hasn't broken through my bone.  Surgery is most likely in my future.  Stick up for your health. Orthopedics has become a very specialized area.
