Ileostomy / Acid Reflux?

Just a question for those out there with an Ostomy.

Prior to my ileostomy surgery in 2007 I never had heartburn or anything of that nature.  It seems like gradually over the past few years I've started getting heartburn hear and there, and now I'm going to get checked for acid reflux as it's become a bothersome to my life.  
Has anyone else has this problem? I'm just wondering if there is any association with acid reflux and ostomys?  I've always heard of people talking about heartburn/acid reflux and am amazed at how this can take such a toll on a person's life.

Just curious!
