ileostomy vs right sided colostomy

Could anyone please briefly explain the main differences between an ileostomy and a right sided colostomy?

Also, would anyone who has had a right sided colostomy like to share their views, opinions and experiences, please?

I always teach illeostomy opn the right and colostomy on the left but not always true...in some cases the ostomy is made very high up in the colon depending on where the diseased part was....most of the time they make colostomies near the end in the sigmoid colon....so the stool is very similar to normal....as water travels thru the colon it is absorbed back into the body so the farther the food/water travels the more water is re-absorbed....so basically the difference is ur stool with either be mushy or more liquid than someone with a sigmoid ostomy...make sense?
