ostomy and kidney stones

My hubby has had an ileostomy since 1988. It's been so much fun and now to add to our delight he has calcium oxalate stones My question is can the lack of a colon cause the stones because of a malabsorption problem. I thought somewhere in the begining we were told he could develope stone or maybe not Any info would be greatly appreciated We don't need another source of fun the bag is enough!!
