Good Works

What do good works mean to a believer is Christ Jesus
Simply put, we were created for this specific purpose
God creates each of us for precise works to carry out
The Bible is clear on this issue, it leaves no doubt

A person is justified by works and not by faith alone
Does this fact take you out of your comfort zone
For by grace you have been saved, through faith, God’s free gift to you
But it doesn’t stop there, because there is so much more to do

We are to be Jesus example, for the whole world to see
A light upon a mountaintop with all its brilliancy
For there are good works, created specifically for you
No one else can do them, it’s completely up to you

For I was hungry and thirsty, and you gave me neither
If it were Jesus asking, would you have changed your answer
A stranger at your door and you fail to welcome Him in
Would you have been overjoyed, if it were Jesus again

For I was naked and you refused to clothe me
I was sick and you did not visit me
I was in prison and you did not visit me
What you do to the least of my brothers, you do to me

Good works, are serving your neighbor with loving kindness
This is something that takes more than a little practice
Treat everyone, even enemies, with the purest of heart
So that they cannot tell Jesus actions and yours apart

Jesus commandment was to truly love one another
You just never know what good work chance is around the corner
By faith you have been saved, not by good works, so do not boast
Be God’s light unto the world, sea to sea and coast to coast.
