     Time to relax and get to know each other a little better.  Tell us where you hale from, what you do.  I am Mary from Ninnesota where we have wind chills of -25 today so staying warm is our priority around here.  I had an ovary along with some aliens removed over a year ago and still drop by from time to time.  My DH and I have three grown kids and are enjoying our first year as empty nesters since the youngest started school down in Mankato about 70 miles from the Twin Cities.  We both work for the phone comany and as any of my Cysters over on the Battalion site will tell you, I am kind of a Techno Gal.
     We recently added a ragdoll kitten to our family and our older cat, Cougar, adores her as do we.  It was Frank's idea to try our hand at breeding so I tell Neva, the kitten, to "think fertile thoughts" till she is old enough.
     Drop by Cysters and drop you contribution to our virtual feast over there by the hot tub.  We'll imagine a good soak later.  MV

It's saying that I have to be a member to have access - so I tried to sign up again, and it won't let me because my email address is already being used by a member of the group - yeah, me! We just refurbished our computer - new motherboard, hardrive and memory - that may have soemthing to do with it. I emailed tech support, but haven't heard back. I can't just sign up again, because I don't have another email address I can use - help!!!

I am from snow belt in central New York, so I will bring hot chicken wings.  Surgery Oct. 05 for stage 3C OVCA.  Ravenlady, when I think of MN I keep thinking I have the chance to drive the Zamboni in the twin cites.  With the snow on the ground and a wind chill for tomorrow, we are staying in the house.  Oh I brought some NY state wine to drink.  The resling is especially good this year, can I pour some for anyone?

     I think this is our first 2007 Cyber Party!  As a matter of fact, out first one  was just about a year ago, I think it was Feb 10th but will know for certain when I hit my work laptop.  It started out as a US Storm Watch.  I was in Arlington Virginia, just across the Potomic from Washington DC awaiting a major winter storm.  The party went from Saturday night throughout the next day when DC got over 10 inches of snow and the hospitals were asking for help from those who owned four-wheel drive vehicles.  Although I was tempted to snuggle up in the hotel for the day, Tascha and Dawn gave me a virtual headslapping so I'd wake-up and see the opportunity.  The subway was still running and I had a ball out on the Mall with my camera taking shots of the snowmen that started at the Washington Monument and went all the way to the Capital building.  I even got a shot of my self I actually like.  Tascha wanted me to do a snow angel for her but by 11AM when I got to the capital, that 10 inches of snow had two inches of slush under it!  Good thing I had someone take a picture of me doing my "virtual" snow angel for Tascha as there was no way I wanted to walk back to the Metro soaking wet!  My students still ask about those shots that are included on my screensaver.  So I we will have to have our anniversary party next Saturday.  What do you think?  MV

Oh my...my parents were both from Auburn, New York. Dad moved to DC in the late 20's and Mom and Dad married in 1930, had five children (I, of course, am the youngest...Mom was 43 when I was born) and lived in Silver Spring, Maryland. But, I have a ton of cousins in Syracuse and also in Albany, etc. Lots of good memories.

Weather is moderate, but gonna drop like crazy and with the wind-chill, should be in the teens. There go my camellia blossoms!

Had a benign cystadenoma removed last August, which is what brought me to this board. Great group of women here!

Hello all!  Wow...I miss the cyber parties.  Just listening to you all talk about how cold it is where you are makes me want to put on my footed PJ's and wrap up in a blanket.  It's cold here in Kentucky, too, though.  Had snow two days last week.  Don't get a lot here, so it's one of those things that stops the world when it happens.  All the schools let out, and the snow schedules kick in for area businesses, too.  And of course, being in the south, the mere mention of snow means it is mandatory to show up at the grocery store to pick up some bread and milk...whether you need it or not!  

I would love some of your chicken noodle soup, Marty.  Is it homemade?

I have some chocolate chip cookie dough if anyone is interested.  I'd rather eat it raw, but if you prefer, I can put some in the oven and bring along some warm cookies here in a minute.

     So helping that skiing in Montana dream happen for the kids!  You go Girl!  What an adventure!  I don't blame you for putting off errands!  We did a few today and Holy Cow does that wind have fangs!  Frank and I will be heading to Cozumel for a week of diving in 21 days and a wake-up!  Whoo Hoo!  Frank insists we get our rescure Diver certification so I don't escape the classroom even on holiday!  He wants to make Dive Master and is taking me with him.  That's OK with me but not sure I could handle the rescue diver volunteer duty.  I think he could, but I am not certain how I'd feel about working with the police to recover water bound bodies.  I am almost fifty and someone has to do it just not sure its me.  I'll get the cert but keep you posted.  MV

Had a Fellow from "the Zone" in class the last two weeks.  The only non-Minnesotan in the bunch and we fly him to Minnesota in Januuary!  One of his classmates brought him a window scraper with instructions the first week of class.  We can't resist teasing those from the Zone in the winter!  MV

Hi everyone, I hope I am not to late.  I had to go to a basketball party for my son tonight and then we came home and watched The Guardian.  What a wonderful movie.

It is so cold here in Indiana, I can not wait to warm up in the hot tub.  I brought fuzzy navels and brownies tonight.  I will set them on the table and hop into the tub.

A trip to Mexico sure does sound like fun.  I bet you will have a wonderful time.  There sure are a lot of new people on here.  I drop by sometimes, but spend most of my time on the BBBC.  It is great to make new friends though.  Is anyone going to watch the Super Bowl tomorrow?  We are here.  Of course, I want the Indianapolis Colts to win, but if the Bears win, I will be okay with that also.  I grew up in Illinois, so either on is okay with me.

BBB stands for the original name of the private site which is "Bulge Battling Battalion".  I just call it the Battalion whereas other Cysters like the acronym.  The url is at the beginning of this thread somewhere.

Well, I kinda new the rules from High School (I was a football cheerleader for one year).  I did learn more watching my son the last couple of years.  To tell you the truth, it is a lot more fun watching my son play.  I always was a  bit of a tom boy when I was little.  My oldest son has the dream of playing in the NFL, and my youngest son wants to play in the NBA.  I love basketball, but I do not really like to watch it on tv.

There would be nothing in the world like watching my own boys play a professional sport.  I do not think anything compares now, and they are only in 5th and 6th grade.  I was a cheerleader for 1 football season, and then I was a pom pom girl (we danced during the halftime at basketball games) for 3 years.  It was my ture passion back then.

Made you learn the rules and now you have two sons.  Is that destiny or what!  I was Mistress of Costumes for four years in High School.  It was an all Girls Parochial school from before my Mom went there util I was enrolled.  It went Co-Ed that year.  I saw the reverse of what I experienced in th Armed Services after High School when the Women were the Majority versus the Minority.  We walk our roads for a reason, we are not always privy to why until after the fact Cheerleader Kasie!  Too Cool! What is really funny is that I think Cheerleader Kasie fits me perfectly.  I have always wanted to be a cheerleading coach.  I love to encourage and support people.  Cheerleading does not always have to be for dumb blonds.  I was a brunette.  LOL
