Need advice please

Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site and I need some advice please.   I am 52 years old. I have had 15 years on and off of fertility drugs including clomid pills and pergonal injections.  I had two pregnancies from them and two miscarraiges.  We never had any children. My question is that am I at high risk for ovarian cancer because of all the infertility treatments?  For the past 4 -5 months I have had 2 bladder infections, bloating, pain in my lower right side.  For the past 3 months I have had pain in my ovaries stabbing like knitting needles during the first few days of my period.  I still get my periods on time every month.  I have had pain until the last few months.  The pain continues on and off thru the month but not constant.  I am extremely tired.  I do have a constant feeling of being full, now the fullness in no longer just in my lower pelvic area.  It has moved to my upper stomach above my belly button.  On the sides it is flat and it bulges out in the middle and it is hard. Not sure what that means.  I am by no means a skinny person. I wear a size 14 jeans.  I have my yearly pap and mammogram set up for the end of September.  Do you think it would be ok to wait a month for the appointment or try to move it up for an utlrasound or CA125 test?   Thank you for you help. God Bless all you on this site:)  Jeannie5259

Hi. Well, don´t be scare about it,  as I understans you have symptoms of abdminal disconfort and pelvic pain, remember that there are alot of things that can upset the pelvic area  like urinary infections, colon problems, and ofcourse  we have to think about  internal genital organs like ovaries and uteru. Ovarian cancer  as I  understand  can be curable just if it  is detected early as it does with breast cancer and  cervical cancer by means of  mastography and  pap. So  it will be prudent  tu look for a ultrasound.....it says that if you have 3 months with  constipation abdominal upset, menstrual irregularities,  pain  it will be o.k. to check this.  but not just the ultrasound. it will be best to be examine physicaly by a doctor too. so he can analize everything.  if the ultrasound has a tumor  the next step is a ca 125...but there are about 4  serological tests not just the ca 125. so it will be best.. to see a doctor. to find out  what will be the best for you.. and don´t be worry ..there are alot of other things that can be easly cure  and not just cancer. be brave!!!!

You need a sonogram to see if there are any cysts/masses on your ovaries before you should even think that you might have OvCa.
The symptoms could be various things, even IBS.   Remember will not show anything at all with your ovaries or uterus for that matter.  It is just a test for cervical cancer.
You can always go to the ER and tell them your complaints, they might do a CT Scan right then and see if there are any issues on  your ovaries.
Hang in there.
