11.5 cm L Adnexal Mass

A CT Scan has just shown an 11 X 5 cm L adnexal mass.  Bloodwork that was drawn showed anemia but the Dr. is suggesting another ultrasound in 2 weeks and surgery in 1 month.  I am assuming, because of this, that cancer markers were negative.  Is cancer still a possibility even though the markers were negative?  This wait seems very long.

Would a tubal ovarian abscess or a hemorrhagic cyst be serious as well?  I would not want these things to rupture.

This is what the radiology report says:

Within the pelvis, the uterus is noted to enhance quite prominently.  In the left adnexa a low density structure approximately 3.3 by 1.4 cm in diameter is noted - this may be the left ovary.  The uterus is desplaced anteriorly and to the left and the rectum to the left by a large low density mass in the right adnexa.  This mass is 11 by 5 cm in diameter.  It has a discernible wall and a somewhat heterogenous internal appearance with high and low density areas that are intermingled.  I do not see any free fluid within the pelvis.

Impression

There are no suspicious upper abdominal findings apart from what would appear to be a large spleen.  We note a large mass within the right adnexa displacing rectum, uterus and there is prominent enhancement of uterine myometrium

The differential diagnosis would inlude inflammatory disease such as tuboovarian abscess, large hemmorrhagic cystic mass or an ovarian neoplasm.

I am taking the wait as good news but I am still very worried.
