As another thought, septations without solid nodules is very reassuring

I mistyped my first post, meant to add information with the subject '11 cm complex cyst with mulitple septatoins with good see through transmission' . This was the reading on my UA regarding a cyst in the right adnexal area covering my right ovary. I also have a small lesion on my kidney .8cm on cortex, but the US say 'etiology unknown, could be renal scarring'. My symptoms are mostly just bladder pressure, but I get a little achy in the back when I sit and thank of all this going on in my body. Even though I have a large complex cyst, is the fact that is has good see through transmission and no internal debri an indication of anything? What should my next steps be? Go directly to a gyn/onc?

Hi Dianne,
Yes, you should go see a gyn oncologist. Most cysts are benign. One of the indications for surgical removal is size greater than 4-5 cm. best wishes.

Thank AG for your advice. I will see an onc/gyn. I am glad most cyst are benign. I assume that means even complex cysts? I guess the nagging concern I have is that the size is double of what is considered the minimum size to remove. I have to ask the age old question, "Does size matter?" ;-)

Well, the radiologist summary report from the CT scan today says a 10cm serous cystadonama and all other organs reported showed no remarkable comments. Should I breathe a sight of relief yet? I dont see my OB/GYN till later this week.
