I am a married 37-year-old
womanWomen's way without children. Three weeks ago, I underwent a laparotomy to remove an 18cm tumor from my left ovary. The surgeon also removed my
appendixAppendectomy, left ovary, and left fallopian tube. My post-surgical pathology report revealed a well-differentiated
mixedMixed respiratory vaccine endometrioid and mullerian mucinous carcinoma. My
gynecologicGynecologic laparoscopy oncologist described the tumor as Grade 1.

My oncologist believes I can wait a few years to have a hysterectomy (until we've had a chance to have a child). She has recommended a follow-up laproscopy (in one month) to remove my left abodmonal lymph nodes for biopsy.
I am struggling with two questions: (1) Is the follow-up surgery necessary now or can I wait until the eventual hysterectomy (within about three years) to have my lymph nodes removed? (2) How much of a risk am I taking in delaying the hysterectomy?
Thank you in advance for your thoughts.
